The competition is fairly soft. Primarily because the only games that are popular are really low-stake games. Most people play limit and No-Limit Hold'em games with blinds of $.25-$.50 or lower, so the competition is simply not going to be too difficult at these stakes. At the $2-$4 limit and $1-$2 No-Limit games the competition increases considerably.
