Men Nguyen
Men “The Master” Nguyen escaped communist rule by boat in 1978, living in a refugee camp before arriving in Los Angeles later that year. At that time, he did not know a word of English. He started playing poker for money in 1985 and by 1990 he went professional. He is currently considered one of the most successful players on the professional poker tournaments circuit having won 4 World Series of Poker (WSOP) gold bracelets. Men has over 70 tournament wins to his credit and has won over $4,000,000. He has won Card Player Magazines “Player of the Year” four times, in 1997, 2001, 2003 and 2005. Men is one of the most feared competitors at any event he enters and is one of the hardest working poker players around today. Under his tutelage, two of his cousins have become professional poker players as well, David "The Dragon" Pham and Minh Nguyen. He currently resides in Bell Gardens, California.
