Hamid Dastmalchi

Hamid Dastmalchi is an American professional poker player, originally from Iran. He has 3 WSOP bracelets and has total live tournament winnings in excess of $1,500,000. Dastmalchi's biggest win came in the 1992 World Series of Poker (WSOP) main event, where he won $1 million. At the WSOP 1992 final hand, Hamid Dastmalchi held 8h 4c, while Tom Jacobs was sitting with Jd 7s. The flop came with Jh 5d 7d, giving Jacobs a dominant two pair on the flop. Jacobs bet and Dastamalchi called. Dastamalchi needed one card, a six, to give him the nut straight. The turn was 6h. He checked while Tom Jacobs moved all-in. Dastmalchi called once again. The river came with 8c and made a champion out of Dastmalchi, giving him the title and $1.000.000 in prize money.
