Bobby Baldwin

Bobby Baldwin grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada. In 1978, Baldwin won the World Series of Poker main event and became the youngest winner in its history. In the final hand, he had pocket queens to pocket 9's for Crandall Addington. The flop came out Q-9-K tripping both players. Crandall checked in a slowplay, Balwin raised, Crandall went all-in and Baldwin called. The turn and river came out A-10 and Baldwin won the Championship.

His youngest player record has since been superceded by Stu Ungar in 1980 and then Phil Hellmuth in 1989. He has four WSOP bracelets, all won from 1977 to 1979. In addition to poker, Baldwin is also known as a world class billiards player. In 1982 he became a consultant for the Golden Nugget casino and was named president of the casino in 1984. He has continued to work at the highest levels of the casino industry.

In 2003, Bobby Baldwin was inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame.

Playing poker for a living gives you backbone. You cannot survive without that intangible quality we call heart. --Bobby Baldwin.
