Antonio Esfandiari
Antonio Esfandiari was born Amir Esfandiari in Tehran, Iran. Although it is illegal to own cards in Iran, Antonio moved to the United States when he was nine years old. He has one World Series of Poker bracelet and one WPT championship, in addition to numerous cashes. Antonio is well known for his impressive sleight-of-hand and card/chip manipulations, having been a professional magician in his years before poker. He credits much of his success to his not being afraid of taking risks. He believes that loss is a part of a gambler’s life and one just has to learn to overcome difficulties.
